At Cuddon, each team member plays their part in contributing to our success. One of these people is Derek Botha, our Workshop Manager at Cuddon. 

Born in South Africa, Derek brings a wealth of global experience to Cuddon, having made his way to our beautiful shores over a year ago. With a solid academic foundation in Mechanical Engineering, Derek cut his professional teeth in New Zealand at BLM Morrinsville, where he led the workshop team. His roles over the years have culminated in his current position where, since December 2023, he has been steering the helm at Cuddon's Carbon Steel Workshop.

Derek's achievements stretch far beyond the workshop. He is a consummate sportsman; he had a provincial trail at Transvaal and played club rugby at Germiston Simmer Rugby Clubwas in South Africa. He was also once a Sky Diving Instructor!  Derek is married with a wife and two university-attending children. He revels in New Zealand's great outdoors fishing, hiking and tiki touring.

Derek goes by the ethos of "If you want to do it right, you come to Cuddon's” We love that!
